When I was on my own there were situations that I would worry about – but they were not something I tried to think about often. It was up to me to be sure that I paid all of my bills on time – but if I had no choice but to eat ramen for a week than that was a small price to pay and one that didn’t bother me. Yet, now that I have a family I worry over everything!

Having a child will put everything into perspective. I find that I am more protective of her and thinking about all the things that might go wrong when I am not around to protect her. There are various things we have the ability to do to protect our children. One that numerous of us do not find as important is health insurance.

I know that this is a sensitive subject for numerous of us at this time. We are being told by the authorities that they do not want to give us any choice. Either we acquire some form of it or we pay out penalties for not having it. This seems a bit rough at first – but it is pressing people to invest in something that can potentially save them in the near future.

The biggest trouble that we have with this is how pricey the plans are. My husband and I waited getting it for many years because it would cost us almost $1,000 a month for only three individuals. Even that much out wasn’t enough to cover the full quantity of prescription or doctor visits. It seemed unreasonable and we felt like it would be cheating us in the end!

In life sacrifices must be made and this is one of many. Do a great deal of research and get something that is going to be affordable for you and your family. You never know when one of you has a terrible accident or a crucial health condition. Without insurance or even Medicaid you will have no way of paying for treatments. This is a position you should never be in.
